

Travel and transport are essential to our business, from getting people to and from work, to the delivery of plant and equipment to construction sites. More sustainable transport can help improve the health and well-being of our staff and is a key part of meeting our carbon targets.
Dover District Council recognised that their existing leisure facility was in need of significant and ongoing investment, so worked with BAM to build a new, state-of-the-art leisure centre. An exciting new asset to the community, facilities includes a fitness suite, spin studio, basketball court, 3G outdoor sports pitches, and the first county-standard, eight-lane competition swimming pool in Kent.
When we saw an opportunity to examine possible circular lighting solutions at the BAM FM-managed Cheshire Police Authority Headquarters and Force Training Centre, we were keen to engage the client and lighting supplier, Whitecroft Lighting, to take full advantage of the opportunity.
Growing in the City (GITC) is a community-led food, environment and educational charity based in east Manchester, at St Barnabas Church. The charity provides a social and inclusive environment to support people with mental health issues. By working with a range of groups and organisations including Men’s Sheds and Barnabas Bees, GITC provides support through a range of activities including projects growing and eating food, building items using reclaimed wood, and creating community green spaces.
Following the launch of our new sustainability strategy and target to enhance one million lives by 2020, last year, we challenged eight teams of our graduates and trainees to Enhance Lives over a six month period.
A 1,300 pupil secondary school, Regent High School was part of Camden Council’s regeneration plan. Part demolition refurbishment and part new build, the new school has a large outdoor learning area, while and the use of the building for community spaces create a safe and inviting learning environment.

Each year the RHS Malvern Spring Festival hosts School Gardens, which offers school children an opportunity to get involved with gardening. BAM has been involved from its outset almost ten years ago.
