Helping BAM to make a real difference in the lives of young people and the communities in which they live is what has driven Ellie to make some significant changes to the way we run our projects. Her zeal for ensuring that our community engagement programmes deliver real tangible results, and her promotion of STEM education to help those with more limited prospects, is infectious.

Ellie’s development of BAM’s community engagement strategy focused our efforts not only on how to work with communities, but on monitoring the effects of our efforts through the benefits we offer those we engage with. Taking this to the national stage, Ellie then set up the first staff voted charity partnership and led the launch of our volunteering programme, which resulted in our staff committing to over 11,000 hours of community work in 2012. In 2013 Ellie also developed a funding scheme to help any of our employees to set up their own community projects.
